Scoles Sports Timing
Timing Is Everything

At Scoles Sports Timing, my goal is simple: to provide accurate, dependable timing and outstanding service for every event we support. Whether it’s a cross country meet, track and field event, or road race, I’m committed to making sure athletes, coaches, and event organizers have a smooth, stress-free experience.
Mark:
My journey in athletics started as a high school cross country runner and continued through my collegiate years at Eastern Michigan University. After college, I stayed active in the sport, competing in races from 5Ks to marathons, and enjoying mountain biking along the way.
For over 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching in the classroom and coaching both cross country and track and field. These experiences have shaped the way I approach timing—always with an understanding of what athletes, coaches, and schools truly need on race day.
Since 2001, I’ve focused on providing professional timing services built on accuracy, reliability, and a commitment to service. At Scoles Sports Timing, I take pride in doing the work behind the scenes so you can focus on what matters most: your athletes and your event.
Thank you for considering us—I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to support your meet or race.
About Scoles Sports Timing

At Scoles Sports Timing, our goal is simple: to provide accurate, dependable timing and outstanding service for every event we support.
We're Mark and Emily Scoles—a husband-and-wife team of educators, athletes, and lifelong supporters of the running community. With more than 25 years of timing experience, we combine professional technology with a personal, hands-on approach to every event.
Whether it's a track & field meet, cross country competition, or road race, we understand the time, effort, and dedication that go into making an event successful. We're committed to making the experience as smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free as possible for everyone involved.
We believe great timing is about more than numbers on a screen. It's about people, relationships, and a genuine love for the sports we serve.
Mark:
Mark's passion for athletics began as a high school cross country runner and continued through his collegiate years at Eastern Michigan University. Since then, he has remained an active competitor, participating in races from 5Ks to marathons, as well as mountain biking and cycling events.
With more than 25 years of experience in education and nearly two decades coaching cross country and track & field, Mark understands the demands of organizing and managing successful athletic competitions. His experience as both a coach and competitor gives him a unique perspective on what athletes, coaches, and event organizers need on race day.
Mark began providing professional timing services in 2008, building Scoles Sports Timing around accuracy, reliability, and exceptional service. He takes pride in handling the details behind the scenes so coaches and race directors can focus on what matters most—their athletes and their events.
Above all, Mark values the relationships he's built throughout the athletic community and is grateful for the opportunity to help make each event a success.

The SST Difference
Educators first. Professional timers by choice. Passionate about both.
At Scoles Sports Timing, we're a little different from your typical timing company. We're educators first and foremost. Teaching is our profession, athletics is our passion, and race timing is one of the ways we've found to bring those two worlds together.
We didn't build SST simply to run a business. We built it because we love the sports, the athletes, the coaches, and the communities we serve. We know how important dependable timing is to a successful event, and we understand how challenging it can be for schools and race directors to find experienced, reliable help.
Our years as educators have shaped the way we approach every event. We're patient, approachable, and always willing to answer questions, explain the process, and help solve problems. We understand that not everyone knows the ins and outs of timing technology—and we certainly don't expect them to.
Make no mistake, we take our responsibilities seriously. We invest in professional equipment, prepare carefully, and hold ourselves to high standards of accuracy and reliability. But we also believe professionalism and friendliness should go hand in hand.
We take our work seriously. Ourselves? Not quite as much.
At the end of the day, we're not trying to be the biggest timing company. We want to be the one you trust, the one you're comfortable calling with a question, and the one you're genuinely happy to see pull into the venue on race day.
Because for us, it's about more than timing races. It's about supporting the sports and communities we love.
